چکیده

Dianthus berkayii belongs to sect. Fimbriati was described and illustrated as a new species from Erzincan Province in Eastern Anatolia, Turkey. In the current study morphological, palynological, molecular characters were compared discussed with its closely related species. The is similar D. crinitus fimbriate corolla, linear, acuminate, ± rigid leaves. Also vanensis rigid, curved divaricate But distinctly different by having linear leaves, stem 3?4(?5) internodes (not 5?8), style much longer than petals, narrower ebarbulate long corolla. bracts of are 1/3 length calyx, but not equal calyx length. IUCN threat category determined be "CR (Critically Endangered)" therewithal it an Irano-Turanian element. study, geographical distributions berkayii, crinitus, also mapped, identification key these provided, pollen morphology phylogenetic analyses based on ITS region rDNA ecological notes presented.
